She co-founded Bye Bye Plastic Bags with her younger sister, sparking a global movement that led to Bali banning plastic bags, straws, and Styrofoam! Today, Bye Bye Plastic Bags is one of the biggest eco-charities in the world, with chapters in over 50 countries.

She also got a Twitter shout-out from Elon Musk, who wanted her to quieten down—unsurprisingly, she did not listen.

Elisa Harley

"Her journey proves what is possible when industry and community support the ambitious dreams of a young person" - IUCN World Conservation Congress

Elisa Harley is a 19-year-old founder of Enivo Pots who is on a mission to replace the 350 million plastic plant pots used in Aotearoa each year with biodegradable alternatives.

What began with selling succulents and native plants at just 12 years old has grown into a bold sustainability venture tackling a nationwide problem.

She has collaborated with scientists to turn forestry waste into innovative plant-based pots, placed 3rd nationally in the Young Enterprise Scheme, won the MPI and MBIE Awards, been named 2023 Youth Wellingtonian of the Year, and is a multi-time GirlBoss Awards winner.
